Change doesn’t just happen. Leaders create change.  Change management is the art and science of
leading an organization and its people through the predictable transitions from current reality to a
preferred future state. Use change as part of your leadership repertoire.  

Change takes time. “Fine-tuning” can be ongoing and require only months, whereas radical overhauls
can require three to five years. In efforts to speed the change process, executives often step in to
directly drive it, but they may try to drive it around the people.

People typically have difficulty handling change: they try it briefly, but then go back to their old ways.
