An organization serious about producing targeted reorganization outcomes develops this roadmap
with care and speed in order to produce a model framework that is effective, timely in results, and
lasting. Developing a roadmap does not mean time delays. It means a deliberate, though quickly
executed, process for identifying critical strategy components and the gaps between those
components and current practice. It results in ease of execution with all bases covered i.e. a shared
process that focuses key players, keeps the process on track both in terms of strategy and task
accomplishment and in terms of timeframe with fewer missteps and less “reworking” throughout
execution.
Implementation Roadmap---Methodology
TMG produces implementation roadmaps in regard to reorganization using the following methodology.
The roadmap includes:
- Strategy components
- Status/gap analysis
- Factors impacting implementation
- Actions to take
- Processes to develop
- Tasks to accomplish
- Approaches to apply
- Resources required
- Communication Plan
- Implementation Timeline
…that are consistent with the “new” culture and division direction, reinforced by policies and practices,
and embraced by employees at all levels of the organization in the following critical areas…
- Leadership
- Organizational and staffing structure
- Functional operations
- Communication/messaging
- Culture development/change management
- Mindset, capability, competency development
- Physical/logistical change
- Political and interpersonal considerations
- Reinforcing structures for sustaining change
Implementation Roadmap---Process Steps
For each of the nine critical strategy areas, TMG:
- Gathers data by reviewing relevant documentation, interviewing designated organizational
representatives and information-holders, observing leadership in action, and other applicable
methods approved by the client
- Identifies critical change and impact components
- Conducts gap analyses for each component in relation to current status/practice and future
vision/practice
- Identifies factors impacting implementation integration, order, timing, processes, such as
interdependencies/intricacies between and among components, time/process drivers such as
budget time demands, constraints, major business that must still be conducted and deadlines
that need to be met, etc.
- Determines actions to take, processes to develop, tasks to accomplish that are consistent with
modeling and moving to the new and required culture/behaviors/competencies, leadership
style, organizational functioning and direction
- Identifies resources necessary for each component
- Devises an integrated implementation roadmap, communication plan, timeline that clearly
delineates each strategy, strategy component, step and action required for each component;
provides for the relationship between strategies and for an integrated implementation

Strategic Planning - Reorganize to Grow Implementation Strategies
|
Successfully executing and sustaining a reorganization
requires an implementation plan that thoroughly analyses
and outlines all strategy implementation components and
required actions within each component, in other words,
an implementation roadmap. This roadmap must address
leadership, structural, functional/operational, cultural,
communication, physical, developmental, political and
other components/change. It is the implementation tool for
achieving and sustaining success in a timely but deliberate
and comprehensive fashion that meets near-term and
serves long-term mission-critical needs.
